About Psitta
Built by a writer who needed a mentor for the whole book — not just a spell-checker.
The story
I built Psitta because I wanted to hear my own writing read back to me. Spelling and grammar checkers told me what was technically wrong — but they couldn't tell me how my writing actually felt. They couldn't catch a sentence that was correct but clumsy, or a paragraph that made sense on paper but stumbled when spoken aloud.
But hearing my drafts was only the start. What I really needed was a mentor for the whole book — something to help me structure the story, keep the arc honest as I drafted, tell me the truth about what was actually on the page, and help me edit it into shape. So that's what Psitta became: a writing studio that coaches you from first idea to finished manuscript, and still reads every line back to you in a human voice. It never writes your book for you — the words stay yours.
The company
Psitta is built by Facti AI LLC, a software company based in Colorado. We build products that help people write, think, and communicate more clearly.
Why the name?
Psitta comes from Psittacidae — the scientific family name for parrots. Parrots listen closely and repeat what they hear. Psitta does the same for your writing: it listens to your story, helps you shape it, and reads it back to you so you can hear what you actually wrote — a companion at your desk from first draft to finished book.
